Hollis Hills Bayside CSA

Congregation Etz Hayim of Hollis Hills Bayside is pleased to be the host of our community CSA

Community Supported Agriculture is about:

  • Organic veggies and fruit
  • Our farm  Garden of Eve Organic Farm www.gardenofevefarm.com is located on Long Island. Support the farm with an up-front payment.
  • Season begins on June 9th and ends on November 17th. Pick-up is on Wednesdays – 8:15 AM – 9:30 AM. There will be 3 Thursday pickups in September due to the Jewish holidays.
  • CSA members are expected to volunteer 4-5 hours during the season and if you are unable to work your shift, you are responsible for finding a replacement from the membership list, and notifying Jennifer Clark, our shift coordinator, of your change.
  • Shifts: Wednesdays from 8:15-9:30 AM or when the last bag is picked up.
  • Distribution site: Congregation Etz Hayim (formerly the Hollis Hills Bayside Jewish Center) at the 211th Street entrance under the awning. The truck will arrive at approximately 8:30 AM. Please wear a mask and social distance.
  • Each week the volunteers will check your name off when you pick up your share. If you are sending someone else to pick up your share, please tell us by email: hollishills.bayside.csa@gmail.com.
  • There will be 6 to 8 items weekly. Shares can be weekly or bi-weekly. Shares are delivered in bags. Shares vary in size/variety during the season.
  • You can have your own share or partner up with a friend.
  • Each member must sign a membership agreement.
  • Register online with Garden of Eve for your share selections. Mail in your $15 check made payable to “Hollis Hills Bayside Jewish Center” (write “CSA/Ross Fund” in the memo line) to cover Administration fee and Just Food donation along with your Membership Agreement (see link below).
  • Additional share of fresh, seasonal fruit, eggs and flowers are available to purchase. Fruit shares are not organic.
  • You and your family will be able to visit our farm and meet our farmer.
  • Just Food our partner is a NYC-based organization that advocates for access to fresh, organic and sustainable food and connects communities to local farms – wwwjustfood.org
