Shabbat Noah 5782

As we read the story of Noah and the flood in the Torah portion named for its hero, there are so many obvious songs that come to mind. I’m going to try to be a bit more subtle in my selections this week See if you can connect these songs to the Torah portion.

The Who knows how God feels

Punning on my favorite Steve Winwood track

AKA Your Yeoman Purser

Enjoy Sting’s jazzy telling

Bought this single on December 10, 1980

How Noah must have felt

We will uncover the significance of these songs after Shabbat minhah, which begins at 6:00 PM.

Though it’s not about the story of the Torah portion, I think you’ll enjoy the use of the concept of flooding in this wonderful song by Israeli recording star Keren Peles. She wrote this in 2007, when she was 18.
