Shabbat Naso 5781

As of this writing, Israel’s conflict with Gaza continues, and we pray for quiet soon. No one should have to spend Shabbat, or any time, in a bomb shelter.

It’s good for us to hear music and read the Torah portion, and perhaps it’s also a healthy distraction from the anxiety of the news. So as you read this week’s portion, Naso, what do you find in connection with these songs?

Moshav Band fuses reggae and Jewish sounds

Gin Blossoms

Introducing The Oh Hellos

The late, great Dolores O’Riordan and The Cranberries

Florence and the Machine

It’s in the form, not the content, of this Beatles classic

Join us for havdalah on Zoom Saturday evening at 9 PM as we uncover the connections!

Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom, and as always, good health,

Rabbi David Wise
