Shabbat Tazri’a-Metzora’ 5781

I hope that you celebrated Yom Ha’atzmaut with pride this week, as we marked 73 years since the birth of the State of Israel, a miracle in our days. I made sure to listened to Israeli music throughout the day, and especially enjoyed the latest Hartman podcast, including my friend Rabbi Joe Schwartz, on the way Israeli music reflects their unique culture.
You can find the podcast here.
There’s plenty of music to be found in the Torah portion, with many of these tracks a variation on a theme. Read the double portion, Tazr’a-Metzora’, and tell me why I thought of these:
Wham! (George Michael)
Another great Toronto band, Saga
The fabulous new band Black Pumas
Talking Heads
Beautiful duet with Peter Gabriel and Sinead O’Connor
Jordie Wise recommended this Lady Gaga song
Answers are welcome at our online havdalah at 8:25 PM on Saturday night!
Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom, and as always, good health,
Rabbi David Wise
