November 2018 Sisterhood News

Shalom! The new year of exciting Sisterhood events has already begun.

The Sisterhood sponsored Congregation Family Shabbat Dinner in the Sukkah was enjoyed by all. There were many helpers that night for which we are grateful. Special thanks go to Robyn Rosenberg and Jaye Solomowitz, who were not publicly thanked that night.

Our paid-up membership brunch was a huge success. Not only did we enjoy a wonderful breakfast, but we were entertained and enlightened with a program by the talented Flutissimo Quartet. Thank you to all the Sisterhood members who helped make it a success.

We appreciate Jaye Solomowitz for organizing the Hollis Hills Bayside Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the luncheon welcoming the ladies of Oak Hills. It was lovely.

As Chanukah is really early this year, we are holding our Annual Holiday Bazaar on November 4th. We have many new vendors and a large new Sisterhood Judaica shop, as well as Grandma’s Attic.

Our Mah Jongg Club begins on November 11th from 1pm to 5pm. Naomi Horowitz is graciously heading this activity.

This year our Annual Torah Fund Brunch will be held on Sunday, November 18th. We are thrilled to honor Jo Ann Luquis for her dedication, participation and leadership in Sisterhood.

Our Annual Challah Bake and Breakfast is set for Sunday, March 10th.

Purim Basket set up (with bagels) will be on March 17th. Distribution will follow the Megillah reading on March 20th.

We have many other events in the planning stage.

Please join us at our next planning meeting on a date to be announced. Our energetic group of Sisterhood members support the local, national and international Jewish Community.
