Sisterhood February 2017 News

Shalom! As we head deep into the cold winter months, we are warmed by our Sisterhood Shabbat. This spiritually fulfilling event has our members leading the Shabbat service from beginning to end. As usual, a beautiful Kiddush luncheon follows the service.

On February 26th, we again visit the Nassau County Museum of Art, which is in Roslyn Harbor on the former Frick Estate. It is situated on a spectacular property in the heart of Long Island’s famed Gold Coast. Aside from the displayed art work and beautiful architecture, it is on beautiful grounds. Robyn Rosenberg has been in touch with our docent, who promises a fabulous visit. This is a photographic exhibition featuring Ansel Adams. We will meet in the lobby at 2:45 with our tour starting at 3:00. In the past we followed our visit with a dinner at Ben’s. The cost is $18 per person.

In March, we celebrate the joyous holiday of Purim. Sisterhood prepares for Purim with our Purim Project, organized by Vicky Wolkofsky and the tireless Maris Blechner. Vicky has again designed an innovative package. We are looking for volunteers on Sunday, March 5th at 10AM to help put together our Shalach Manot.  The goodies will be distributed on Purim, March 11th after the Megillah reading. We have had lots of fun doing this in the past, as we also enjoy a light breakfast.

On March 26th, we will celebrate the coming of Passover with our annual Woman’s Seder. We will use our Sisterhood created Haggadah. This is a very special event that is educational, inspirational, and fun.

We will end the year on Wednesday, June 14th with a challah bake. Yum!

Please join us at the next planning meeting on March 2nd.
