Our High Holidays were so beautiful. HHJC is a true family. We pray together, chant together, laugh together and even cry together. We are truly here for each other and for our community. We are a true example of what Yiddishkeit is about and we are a role model for the Jewish community. I wish each and every one of you and your families a healthy and sweet New Year.
To begin our New Year, we have a very special show planned…

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2015 at 7:00 PM ”The Cantor’s Couch” An Exciting One-Man-Show
I am bringing in my friend, world renowned CANTOR JACOB MENDELSON, to HHJC. He will be presenting his ONE MAN SHOW/CONCERT , “THE CANTOR’S COUCH” (book by Mark Bieler), which he plans to bring to Off-Broadway. The show is a journey through his real life stories growing up in 1950’s Boro Park, Brooklyn. The son of a loving deli owner and an overbearing mother, Cantor Mendelson paints the picture of his experiences and encounters. He recounts the story of a childhood riddled with anxiety and doubt, mixed with joyous memories of music and celebration — all told with the expertise and comic timing of a master storyteller. Get ready for some hilarious fun and maybe a few tears of nostalgia. Featuring original music by Jonathan Comisar.
Join us for this exciting show… It will be a spectacular evening filled with hilarious laughter, music, warmth and memories!.
There will be a dessert reception to follow. Tickets will be available after Succot. Please call the Synagogue Office at 718-776-3500 x 0 to reserve your seats.
I am also planning a concert for the Spring with an array of exceptionally talented performers. Date to be announced soon.
Let’s enjoy together!
See you in Shul,
Cantor Sol Zim
