Cantor Search

Our congregation’s leadership is inviting cantorial candidates to submit their resumes for the position of Cantor for our community.  The process entails posting for the position with the Cantors Assembly (Conservative Movement). If the search through the assistance of the CA is not productive, after a stated period of time, the congregation will proceed with posting the position in other public Jewish job sites as well as solicit candidates through networking efforts. Resumes are reviewed by a steering committee, whose role is to steward the process.  The resumes are then reviewed by the davening task force and by the executive committee, resulting in invites for selected candidates for interviews and for further in person review by both the task force and the entire congregational board.  Based on this process, there will be selected candidates who will be invited to lead davening for a Shabbat.  This will include Kabbalat Shabbat, Shabbat morning services and Mincha/Havdalah/Ma’ariv services followed by an opportunity for the candidate to meet with congregants and conduct a song circle.   This area of the website will include feedback forms for congregants to provide feedback on the candidate Shabbat weekend visits. We will also post the schedule for the weekend.
