Dear Synagogue Members,
Hello! My name is Jen Gold and I am the new H2I Youth Director replacing Daniel Bacharach. I admire, respect and love Judaism and the bridge it creates between children and teens. I am very excited to be taking on this new role and working with each of the three synagogues, your children and the Jewish community.
A little background about me: I am a second grade teacher and have taught Hebrew school for many years. I too was a part of a youth group when I was younger where I served in multiple positions and met some of my life-long friends being a part of it. I was also a graduate assistant at Hofstra University where I created and executed programs that connected the students to the community around them.
I hope to create a family atmosphere for the H2I children and teens. Together, we will create a place where they feel safe and at home. I will work towards instilling Jewish morals and values that will help shape our members. I also plan to bring more community service opportunities to H2I as it is extremely important that our children and teens not only understand Tikkun Olam (making the world a better place), but also have the opportunity to become an intricate and intimate part of it.
As the new H2I Youth Director, my goals will be to:
I look forward to being a part of this wonderful community and to meeting each of you as the year goes on. I am optimistic and confident that this is going to be the best year that H2I has seen yet!
