Youth Group News – September 2016

After a relaxing summer, H2I Youth Group is preparing for another great year! Over 50 of our 6-12th graders have already participated in the first regional program of the year – METNY Encampment at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires – and had the time of their lives with peers from across the NY Metropolitan area.

H2I Youth Group is the award-winning youth program of three Conservative synagogues in Northeast Queens: Hollis Hills Bayside Jewish Center, Hillcrest Jewish Center, and Israel Center of Conservative Judaism (ICCJ).  Through this collaboration, H2I Youth Group is able to bring together youth from all over the Northeast Queens Jewish Community, allowing for a vibrant Judaic environment in which our youth can socialize and learn.

We are affiliated with the United Synagogue Youth, the youth movement of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. H2I is therefore a member of USY’s METNY Region (NY Metropolitan Area) and Sababa Division (New York City), which provide our members in grades 6-12 with opportunities to network with other youth from across the greater New York metropolitan area.

Our activities range from social to educational and athletic to artistic.  In addition to our regular Sunday night meetings at one of our three partner synagogues and Thursday night Recreation Hour at Hillcrest Jewish Center, H2I offers various special trips and events throughout the year.

Registration will take place on Sunday, September 11 at Hollis Hills Bayside Jewish Center. Registration and our opening program for Nitzanim (Grades 2-3) and Chalutzim (Grades 4-5) will take place from 5-6:15 PM, for Kadima (Grades 6-8) from 6:15-7:30 PM, and for USY (Grades 9-12) from 7:30-9:00 PM. More details on our opening program, as well as a full calendar for the first part of the year, are now available on our website at
