It’s hard to believe, but we’re already entering the homestretch of our year at H2I! March was a great month…we started off preparing for Purim by making chocolate lollipops in Purim shapes and decorating graggers, and continued the fun on March 8 with our Purim Carnival at Hillcrest. As the month went on, our groups took part in the second “Mitzvah Stations” program of the year, in which they worked on making items to be donated to organizations across the country, and our younger groups celebrated the beginning of spring by decorating clay pots and planting seeds! As the month came to a close, we were honored to host the first ever Sababa Spring Kinnus at Hillcrest JC, which brought together teens from across the New York metropolitan area for a meaningful Shabbat experience. We wrapped up the month with our annual Chocolate Seder, which was a huge hit, as always.
April promises to be another great month. After resting up over Spring Break, our programming resumes on Wednesday, April 15 as we encourage all of our members to attend the joint Yom HaShoah program at Hillcrest Jewish Center. This promises to be an incredibly meaningful program and we hope our families will be a part of the commemoration. We continue the month on Sunday, April 19 as we celebrate Yom Ha’Atzmaut with exciting programming that will take our youth on an “adventure” through Israel! From April 24-26, all those in seventh grade and up are invited to attend METNY Regional Convention and Seventh Grade Experience at Hudson Valley Resort. More information on registering for that program is available at www.metnyusy.org. Our month concludes on April 26 with an “Anything Goes” Olympics for our younger groups and a Post-RC Lounge Night for our USYers.
Wishing all of you a zissen Pesach!
